Lifting weights needs to be done with a purpose. Here is why.
Lifting weights puts pressure on your joints and adds tension to your muscle. It can load your spine. When perform with poor technique or form, this can hurt and cause damage to your body. This is why people start and stop working out quickly.
Using correct technique and starting with a coach allows you to know if your lifting weights properly. Also, knowing how hard to push yourself to increase strength, but not cause injury.
Then you can enjoy the health benefits of your daily activities at work, with family and DIY projects without chance of injury.
When we are in pain, how does our mood change? Yes, grouchy, negative, short-temper. All of us.
Under chronic stress our body gets tired and stressed. Then chemically and hormonally our body changes to a stressed state. And being moody is a common sign.
Chiropractic helps relax your spinal nerves, then your body’s chemistry and hormone level can get back to a balanced, relaxed state. The result: a person who stays relaxed with a positive mindset. Then staying motivated to do the exercises to stay healthy becomes possible.

When a person comes into our office is severe pain (9-10 on a 1 to 10 pain scale) in the last few days, a chiropractic adjustment make not be effective to help short-term relief.
Based on my experience, we need to help people get their pain level at a 6 or below to help with an adjustment, stretching or physical therapy modalities.
The problem is people are told by their doctors to stay on medication for weeks and months and sometimes years with fixing a person’s problem.
With chiropractic we can find the root of the problem AND get a person to feel better and get a better state of health. We want people feeling strong and relaxed. Then a person can tolerate their stresses of daily life.

As people, it is easy to generalize about a generation. The generalization of the present late teens and 20 year olds is WRONG. Let me justify this statement.
There is no doubt our world, school and homes have and will continue to be more techie. This means we communicate, learn and work via our phone (85% on average), then laptops and tablets.
My dinosaur generation (40’s and 50’s) want to fight this change, so we don’t adapt and complain. Ironically, these millennials are called up to take on techie jobs that every company needs. So, in my opinion, these millennials have adapted to our technology and will win.
Let’s see which generation is correct in a few years.
Have kids who are in sports (or an athlete yourself) it is important to maintain confidence to self-confidence.
Derek has learned and seen results understanding an individual’s mindset to keep them positive when an athlete’s performance starts to drop. This short clip explains how he has worked with baseball pitchers. This would work with any child teenager, especially when they love playing the sport.
Understand that being an athlete or a person who want to stay healthy takes a positive mindset to maintain a routine to see the results (sometime 4-6 weeks). Then the results can keep you motivated. So enjoying the work as an athlete or being a normal human. Then enjoy the results!
