In this part of the motion-health loop (MHL) we get to understand the effect of less spinal motion. When this occurs the spinal joints stimulate the sympathetic (Stress) nervous system.
The sympathetic is part of your body’s stress response. This activate your fight or flight automatic body response to get away from a tiger, for example. When the spinal joints lock, then your sympathetic nerves stimulate release of stress hormones: cortisol and catecholamines.
Chiropractic loosens spinal joints, reversing this process to help produce relaxation hormones. Then you relax.
