Part 6 of 6: Parasympathetic Relaxed Nerve Response for Health

In part 6, having normal spinal joint motion stimulates the parasympathetic nerves to allow the adrenal glands to release relaxation hormones (adrenaline, serotonin) to keep the body relaxed (your muscles, brain, organs, etc.).  This leads your body to recharge when you sleep, giving you more energy, keeping you healthy.

Part 5: Chronic Sympathetic Stress Response and a Recovery Story

In Part 5, chronic poor posture can lead to spinal joint locking and arthritis without symptoms.  In these cases, the people can have a sympathetic stress response but minimal muscle pain or neuropathy.

Part 4: LESS Spinal Motion leads to STRESS Hormone Release

In this part of the motion-health loop (MHL) we get to understand the effect of less spinal motion.  When this occurs the spinal joints stimulate the sympathetic nervous system.

The sympathetic is part of your body’s stress response.  This activate your fight or flight automatic body response to get away from a tiger, for example.  When the spinal joints lock, then your sympathetic nerves stimulate release of stress hormones: cortisol and catecholamines.
